About the Library

The central library is well equipped with all modern facilities and resources in the form of CD-ROM, Online database, Books, Journals, Standards, Specifications, Theses, and Reports etc. Central Library is committed to provide a world class information support to its users. Central Library is located in the Academic Block.

Central Library has a rich collection of More than 15,000 documents which include books and bound volumes of Periodicals. The collection is mainly strong in Science & Technology & Management. However substantial quality information sources on Humanities and Social Sciences are also available.

We are currently involved in utilizing the networked information resources for providing recent and most comprehensive access to e- journals, e-books, e-patents and other e-reference resources to the faculty, Student, Staff, Industries, and Alumnus under intranet and internet environments.

 

LibSys Book Catalogue (OPAC)

Online Public Access Catalogue is available in library for the use of students and staff members. Online Public Access Catalogue provides access to the library's holdings through various catalogue and indexes such as the author catalogue, the title catalogue, the subject catalogue and the classified catalogue. Also possible are words-based combination searches using Boolean operators that yields highly satisfying and precise result, However complex the query maybe. Besides the basic search strategies, OPAC also makes available to the patrons the newly added books and journals.

Current Periodical Section

The library subscribed more than 65 journals in field of Technology and Applied Sciences. There is a separate section to refer these printed journals. Old issues from 2009 are also available in hard bound form for the use of students and staff.  

 

E-Journals

Library subscribes to more than 2200 e-journals through Infotrack Engineering Collection through Gale Cengage Learning and its own arrangement. For accessing go to http:// infotrac.galegroup.com/itweb/innorth and http://delnet.nic.in .

Internet search services

Providing latest information to its users is the primary responsibility of any modern library. To fulfill this responsibility, the central library had made arrangements to provide internet search, access to its readers with the help of 10 user systems. Readers can also access 2200 Journals online.

Reference

The Research Reference and Information services section contains research and reference tool such as atlases, bibliographies, biographical dictionaries, data books, dictionaries, (General and Special) directories, encyclopedias, gazetteers guides to literature Hand-Book maps thesauri etc. All queries about research problems and scientific information should be addressed to this section.

Text Book Loan Scheme

The text book loan scheme section contains 15,000 volumes with recent editions of the text book prescribed for study at the B.Tech and Management level. A student may become member of the scheme on payment of prescribed fee. 7 Books to each student Issue for a period of whole semester.

 

 Inter library loan scheme

Under the inter library loan scheme material not available in our library is procured from other libraries in India and abroad through DELNET (Developing Library Network) New Delhi.

In addition to the central library, the department has its own departmental library. One copy of each text book and reference book prescribed are available in this library. The magazines, project reports, seminar reports are also kept for the student's reference. Internet facility is also providing to the students and faculty in this library for online interaction.
